At the conclusion of the course, the participant should be able to:

  • Understand the role of global fascial compensations in patient history. (Knowledge)
  • Differentiate between ascending and descending compensations through interview and clinical reasoning. (Analysis)
  • Define a correct treatment plan to restore the balance in the full body. (Synthesis)
  • Evaluate the quality of segmental and global movement verification in the affected body segments to identify silent points responsible of chronic symptoms in the patient. (Evaluation)

Certified Fascial Manipulation® Specialist, Fascial Manipulation® Teacher & Neuromuscular Therapist

After completing his “Therapeutic Massage Training Diploma Program” and “Neuromuscular Therapy Certification Program” in Florida, Alp started to work in physical therapy centers as a soft tissue manual therapist in Istanbul, Turkey. He then completed the Balanced Body® Pilates Instructor Training Program in order to combine manual therapy with exercise. In 2011, Alp started a part-time, post-graduate program called "Higher Diploma in Neuromuscular Therapy" at NTC, the College of Complementary Medical Education in Dublin, Ireland. Upon his graduation in 2014, Alp decided to focus on fascia science in order to understand and interpret the functional integration of the human body.  He attended international fascial anatomy dissection workshops, fascia research summer school in Germany and International Fascia Research Congresses. This experience led to teaching workshops on functional anatomy, individualized orthopaedic medical exercises, and sustainable self care programs. 

In 2015, Alp was officially  introduced to the Fascial Manipulation® - Stecco Method in Washington DC. He completed all of his Fascial Manipulation® courses with Dr. Antonio Stecco. In 2021, he became a Certified Fascial Manipulation® Specialist.  He continued his training and completed the teacher training program began upon Dr. Carla Stecco and Dr. Antonio Stecco’s kind request. After assisting Dr. Antonio Stecco several times in Padova, Italy, he passed his teacher’s exam and earned the Fascial Manipulation® Teacher certification in August 2023.

Alp is living in Vancouver, BC at the moment and practicing Fascial Manipulation® in several clinics, mainly focusing on orthopaedic rehabilitation, sports injuries, post operative cases and complex chronic pain patients.

  • List the types of human fascia and understand the role of fascia in nociceptive pain. (Knowledge)
  • Differentiate between ascending and descending type of disorders and assess the proper body segments. (Analysis)
  • Develop effective treatment for myofascial pain syndrome and musculoskeletal disorders. (Synthesis)
  • Evaluate the quality of the deep fascia through palpatory verification and treat appropriate the points (Centers of Coordination) restoring the tissue gliding. (Evaluation)
